Welcome to Retro Frugality

(I do not own the rights to these pictures)

Hello, and welcome to the latest site that is devoted to the passion of vintage treasures and thrift store finds that are otherwise noted to be junk,... or trash to the person that discards it, and is found to be the coolest thing ever made to someone else. This is Retro Frugality, and here, we look at thrift stores and Goodwill to be the stock market of discount gems and rare articles that were mass produces or new at one point, and now only a hand full of them exist today, that is not in most cases, but the most common display of what we cover on this blog.

A thrift store is a place where people take there unwanted goods to and donate to charity, whats on there mind is "its out of my hair", what not on there mind is "who's going to use it now?". As many of us can relate to the memories of our childhoods, we know we had things that were cool to us, and new and shiny, and cost so much to be able to own it. Although I may be younger than most people that you would find to have such a strong interest in this matter, I can relate to people from many generations past with my insightful knowledge of classic television and pop culture.

The question that really started this whole thing is, "do you remember this?", and after finding something that catches my eye, I have the tendency to research and find the history to better understand what I am really looking at.

Retro Frugality isn't just about thrift stores, it is about anywhere that tangible pieces of cultural history, that being store history, clothing, music, furniture, toys, anything that was once new, and now rare to find, can end up actually being found at.

Macklemore's Thriftshop song featuring a "raw" fur coat and that famous prices of  the second use world.

The feeling everybody yearns for is to find something to make them happy, the saying, "money doesn't buy happiness" is not really delineate is this situation because so little can buy so much, and usually its something that's worth far more than what you paid for, in rare cases, what you bought for a dollar, in the right market, can go for ten times more than that, but really, when someone buys something that was otherwise considered trash, holds so much sentimental value to the right person,

This is just a summary of what this blog focuses on, in the future we will cover in-depth stories and reviews of famous and fascinating inventions and , thrift store finds as well as featured stories on a daily and weekly basis, think of it as the "mystery topic" of the week, where we devote a week to a particular type of past popular devices and inventions.

Thank you
